Falken der Meere

In 1990–1991, German publisher Comicothek released Falken der Meere, a two-issue comic series that adapts and reworks material from Will Eisner's classic newspaper strip Hawks of the Seas. The series is most closely associated with Eisner himself, alongside writers Harald Havas and Willis Rensie, with art by Eisner and Rensie. A compact, historically flavored adventure, it stands as a lesser-known European presentation of Eisner's early swashbuckling work, offering a glimpse into his pre-Spirit storytelling.
