Essef

A short-lived but creatively ambitious science fiction anthology from the late 1970s, Essef was published by RAJ-Publications and ran for seven issues. The series balanced contributions from American writer John Adkins Richardson with European talents like Spanish artist Esteban Maroto and Dutch creator Bert Bus, who both wrote and drew stories for the title. With a rotating roster of artists including Nico van Dam, Essef offered a distinct, international flavor of speculative fiction during an era when European comics were gaining wider English-language exposure.
