Emergency-Ward 10

In 1959, Pearson launched Emergency-Ward 10, a photocomics series based on the popular British television medical drama of the same name. Running for 20 issues, the series used real photographs to tell the stories of the doctors and nurses at the fictional Oxbridge General Hospital, bringing the show's bedside drama to the comic page. Though the artist behind the photo spreads remains unnamed, the strip stands as a distinctive example of the 1950s British photocomics trend, bridging the worlds of television and print.
