About the series
In the mid-1980s, Comico published Elementals, a 29-issue superhero series blending horror and fantasy with a distinctly personal, character-driven touch. Most closely associated with writer/artist Bill Willingham, the book also featured key contributions from Jack Herman, Jill Thompson, and Grant Miehm. It carved a niche for itself with its moody, mythologically-infused take on super-powered beings, helping to define the independent comics boom of the era.
