El Gato del Rabino

Joann Sfar and Antoine Delzongle’s El Gato del Rabino (The Rabbi’s Cat), originally published in French before being collected by Norma Editorial, is a warm, philosophical graphic novel series set in 1930s Algiers. It follows a rabbi, his daughter, and their talking cat—who gains the power of speech after swallowing a parrot—as they navigate faith, family, and identity in a multicultural North African world.
