About the series
In the early 1980s, Editorial Valenciana published El Aguilucho, a 42-issue Spanish comic series that followed the adventures of a masked, winged hero. Created by writer Pedro Quesada and artist José Grau, the series blended swashbuckling action with a distinctly Spanish sensibility, offering a homegrown alternative to the imported superheroes of the era. Its brisk run remains a fondly remembered example of the vibrant, post-Franco boom in Spanish adventure comics.
