About the series
Ehapa Filmband (1979–1990) was a German-language anthology series from Egmont Ehapa, blending American superhero imports with European storytelling across its 12-issue run. The series featured frequent contributions from writers Cary Bates and David Newman, alongside artists Curt Swan and Dan Spiegle, with Dutch cartoonist Daan Jippes leaving his mark on both scripts and art. Its mix of DC-style action and European comic sensibilities made it a distinctive bridge between markets during the late Bronze Age.
