Eddy Current

Ted McKeever’s Eddy Current (1987–1988, Mad Dog Graphics) is a 12-issue black-and-white series that channels the raw, off-kilter energy of its era. A surreal, urban nightmare filtered through McKeever’s jagged, expressionistic art, the book was also shaped by the lyrical, haunting contributions of Tom Waits. It remains a cult touchstone for fans of idiosyncratic, creator-owned comics from the late ‘80s indie boom.
