About the series

From 1953 to 1955, Advertiser Newspapers published Eagle Magazine, a British comic best remembered for the pioneering work of writer-artist Frank Hampson. Over its 89-issue run, Hampson's meticulous, cinematic storytelling and detailed art defined the series, most famously through the adventures of Dan Dare. The magazine was a landmark in post-war British comics, setting a new standard for visual quality and narrative ambition in the medium.
