About the series
From 1983 to 1985, First Comics revived the whimsical, offbeat superhero E-Man, originally created by writer-artist Joe Staton. This 25-issue run saw Staton joined by co-writers Mike Gold and Martin Pasko, with artist Mike Grell also contributing, as the series balanced humor, social commentary, and cosmic adventure. The title character, a living energy being, and his stripper-turned-superheroine partner Nova Kane navigated a quirky world that poked affectionate fun at comic-book tropes.
