Dudley

About the series

Boody Rogers both wrote and drew this three-issue series for Prize Comics in 1949–1950. The title character, Dudley, is a dim-witted but good-natured country bumpkin whose misadventures provide the core of the humor. Rogers' energetic, cartoonish art style gives the strip a lively, gag-a-minute feel, typical of the lighthearted funny-animal and hillbilly comics that were popular at the time. Though short-lived, Dudley is a neat little snapshot of Rogers' singular, offbeat comedic voice.
