In the post-apocalyptic world of Drain, a mysterious plague has transformed most of humanity into vampire-like creatures, leaving the remnants of civilization to struggle for survival. Published by Soleil beginning in 2008, this French comic series pairs the taut, atmospheric writing of Alain Moyano and C. B. Cebulski with the hauntingly beautiful artwork of Sana Takeda, whose lush, detailed style gives the grim setting a melancholic elegance.
