About the series

In 1971, the Spanish publisher Buru Lan launched Drácula, a horror anthology series that ran for twelve issues and became a cornerstone of the country's adult-oriented comics movement. Steeped in gothic atmosphere and psychological terror, the series is most strongly associated with the artwork of Esteban Maroto, whose lush, expressive style—along with contributions from artists like Enrich and José Beá—brought a European sensibility to classic monster and macabre tales. Written by a rotating team including Maroto, Sadko, and Luis Gasca, the series stands as a key example of the bold, experimental Spanish comics of the early 1970s.
