From 1993 to 2006, Evan Dorkin's Dork ran for eleven issues through Slave Labor, a scruffy, self-deprecating series built around the absurd adventures of Cheese and Milk. Dorkin handled both writing and art, filling each page with a distinctive, off-kilter humor that satirized comics culture and everyday life with equal affection. Though brief, the series stands as a cult touchstone for its era, capturing the DIY spirit of indie comics without ever taking itself too seriously.
