About the series
In the mid-1980s, Marvel UK brought the time-traveling adventures of the Doctor to comics with a 23-issue run that paired the series' signature sci-fi whimsy with a darker, more atmospheric edge. Anchored by writer Steve Parkhouse and artist Dave Gibbons—whose clean, expressive linework defined the book's look—the series also featured contributions from John Wagner and Jim Salicrup, as well as painted covers by Mick Austin. This era of the comic stands out for its original, self-contained stories that expanded the Doctor's universe beyond the television screen, offering a distinct and influential take during a transitional period for the character.
