Dirty Plotte / Dead Plotte

Julie Doucet's Dirty Plotte and its single follow-up Dead Plotte (1989–1990) are a raw, two-issue burst of underground comix energy, written and drawn entirely by Doucet herself. The series captures her signature, densely inked, confessional style—a surreal, often visceral blend of autobiography, bodily humor, and feminist rage that helped define the alternative comics scene of the late '80s. Though brief, this early work established Doucet as a singular, uncompromising voice in the medium.
