About the series
From 1987 to 1999, Dutch publisher Arboris collected Dik Browne's beloved Viking misadventures in Dikke Hägar, a 24-issue series that gathered the classic Hägar the Horrible newspaper strips. Anchored by Browne's signature artwork and warm, gag-a-day humor, the series follows the bumbling, helmeted chieftain as he navigates pillaging, family life, and his perpetually exasperated wife Helga. A cornerstone of European reprint editions, this run preserved the timeless charm of one of the most widely syndicated comic strips of the 20th century.
