In 2024, Reprodukt launched Die Straße, a German-language graphic adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's stark, post-apocalyptic novel The Road. The series is shaped by the singular vision of French cartoonist Manu Larcenet, who both writes and illustrates this harrowing journey, with Heike Drescher contributing to the translation and adaptation. Larcenet's expressive, often wordless panels translate McCarthy's bleak prose into a visual medium, making this a significant and faithful European comic interpretation of a landmark work of American literature.
