About the series
In the late 1980s, Carlsen Comics released this three-issue German comic series, Die seltsamen Abenteuer der Ente Alfred J. Kwak, adapting the beloved Dutch-Japanese animated series into a print format. Following the gentle, optimistic duck Alfred J. Kwak, the stories blend whimsical adventure with surprisingly mature themes of tolerance and history. The series is primarily associated with its creator, Dutch artist Harald Siepermann, whose expressive, lively artwork brought the character's world to vivid life. Though brief, it remains a charming artifact of the cross-cultural collaboration that defined Alfred J. Kwak's unique legacy.
