Detective Picture Stories

Bob Kane, Joe Campbell, and John Patterson wrote and drew this short-lived, five-issue series from the Comics Magazine Company, running from 1936 to 1937. A pre-superhero anthology, Detective Picture Stories offered a mix of crime, mystery, and adventure tales typical of the era's newsstand comics. While it predates Kane's most famous creation, the series stands as an early example of the detective genre in the medium, showcasing the pulp-influenced storytelling that would soon define American comics.
