Der Killer

From 2002 onward, French publisher Tilsner released Der Killer, a taut, cerebral crime comic written by Martin Budde and Matz, with stark, atmospheric art by Luc Jacamon. The series follows a coldly professional contract killer whose methodical worldview is disrupted by his own ruthless trade, offering a slow-burn meditation on violence and consequence. Though it began with a single issue, its lean, European noir sensibility has made it a quietly influential work in the assassin genre.
