Decameron

Based on Boccaccio’s 14th-century masterpiece, this 1988–1989 Futura comic series reimagines the Decameron’s tales of wit, love, and survival during the plague through a modern visual lens. Though it produced no individual issues, the project stands as a fascinating, short-lived experiment in adapting classic literature for a graphic format, most notably for its collaboration between renowned Italian comics artist Milo Manara and filmmaker Pier Paolo Pasolini.
