About the series
In the late 1980s, Arrow Comics unleashed Deadworld, a stark black-and-white horror series that thrust readers into a world overrun by the living dead. Written primarily by Stuart Kerr and Vincent Locke (under the pseudonym King Zombie), with Locke and Mark Bloodworth handling the grim artwork, the nine-issue run is remembered for its bleak, nihilistic tone and its focus on survival amid relentless undead hordes. A foundational title of the independent horror boom, Deadworld helped define the grim aesthetic of zombie comics before the genre became ubiquitous.
