Deadface
Harrier · 1987–1988 · 8 issues
About the series
From 1987 to 1988, Harrier Comics published Deadface, an eight-issue series that stands as a darkly comic, offbeat gem of the British small-press scene. Most closely associated with writer/artist Eddie Campbell, who drew the entire run and co-wrote with Martin Lock, the series follows a struggling, cynical actor whose life takes surreal turns. It matters as an early showcase of Campbell's distinctive, scratchy linework and wry storytelling, foreshadowing the voice he would later bring to his acclaimed work on From Hell.
