De Lier

A quiet, character-driven Dutch comic series published from 1997 to 2002, De Lier ran for 21 issues under the sole creative hand of Danny Steggerda. Set in a small, fictional village, the series explored the quiet tensions and interconnected lives of its residents with a gentle, observational eye. Steggerda's clean, expressive linework and unhurried storytelling made it a distinctive and warmly regarded entry in the European alternative comics scene of the late 1990s.
