De Humorist van de Week [De Humorist]

A Dutch comics institution, De Humorist van de Week (later simply De Humorist) launched in 1927 under the banner of publisher De Spaarnestad and ran for 272 issues, continuing to the present day. The series is most closely associated with American cartoonist Martin Branner, whose work as both writer and artist defined its long run. As a weekly comic feature, it brought Branner’s distinctive, lighthearted humor to Dutch readers, marking a lasting transatlantic collaboration in early European comics publishing.
