About the series

Set during the American Civil War, De Blauwbloezen is a long-running Franco-Belgian Western comedy series from Dupuis, launched in 1972. Primarily written by Raoul Cauvin and drawn by Willy Lambil (following Louis Salvérius’s initial work), the series follows the misadventures of two mismatched Union soldiers, Sergeant Chesterfield and Corporal Blutch. With over 70 albums, it’s a beloved staple of European comics, blending historical settings with slapstick humor and a satirical take on military life.
