In 1971, German cartoonist Heiner H. Hoier launched Das wirklich neue Testament as a single-issue underground comic for the Schoengeist imprint, offering a satirical, irreverent take on biblical narratives. Hoier wrote and drew the entire book, blending crude humor with pointed social commentary in a style typical of the era's countercultural press. Though brief in its run, this obscure pamphlet endures as a cult curiosity for its bold, one-off reinterpretation of scripture through a distinctly late-60s/early-70s lens.
