About the series
A two-issue Marvel series bridging the gap between Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, this annual spotlighted Darth Vader’s personal missions and psychological state. Writer Chuck Wendig and artist Leinil Yu handled the first issue, with Kieron Gillen and Leonard Kirk taking the second, each exploring the Sith Lord’s ruthless efficiency and fractured humanity. These standalone stories deepened Vader’s character while fitting seamlessly into the larger Star Wars comics continuity of the era.
