About the series
In 2007 and 2008, the Hungarian publisher Fumax brought the Italian horror-fantasy series Dampyr to local readers with a six-issue run titled A sötétség gyermeke. The comic follows the adventures of Harlan Draka, a half-vampire "Dampyr" who hunts supernatural threats, blending dark folklore with action. While the series originated in Italy, this Hungarian edition introduced the character to a new audience, showcasing the international reach of European comics. Its concise, self-contained story arc made it a notable entry in the early 2000s wave of translated European horror comics.
