About the series
In this short-lived but cleverly satirical 1989–1990 Marvel miniseries, writer Dwayne McDuffie and artist Ernie Colón spotlight the unsung heroes of the superhero world: the workaday crew of Damage Control, a construction company that cleans up the colossal property damage left in the wake of superhuman battles. Led by the pragmatic Albert Cleary and the beleaguered Gene Strausser, the team navigates insurance claims, bureaucratic red tape, and the occasional appearance by Captain America, all while trying to get the city back in working order. This four-issue run offers a warm, humorous, and surprisingly human look at the Marvel Universe from street level, making it a cult favorite for its grounded take on superheroic wreckage.
