Dago

In the mid-1960s, French publisher Editions Lug brought the grim, swashbuckling world of Dago to readers across eight issues. This short-lived series followed the violent adventures of a disgraced nobleman turned mercenary in a fictionalized, brutal version of Renaissance Italy. Known for its stark, detailed artwork and morally ambiguous hero, Dago stands as a distinctive artifact of the European adventure comics boom, offering a darker, more cynical take on the period than many of its contemporaries.
