The French horror series Démoniak debuted in 1967 from Les editions de poche, running for nine issues. A key title in the European horror-comics boom, it is most associated with the macabre, atmospheric work of artist Jean-Claude Forest, who brought a distinctive, shadowy elegance to its tales of supernatural terror.
