About the series
In 1999, Image Comics unleashed Cy-Gor, a dark, sci-fi horror series that follows the monstrous titular creation—a cybernetic gorilla—and the tangled web of scientists, hunters, and victims caught in its wake. Spanning six issues, the series was defined by the visceral storytelling and grotesque artwork of its creator, who wove a brutal narrative around a cast including Warner Zevon, Fatima, Mort, Sasa, and Gregor. Though short-lived, Cy-Gor stands as a cult oddity of late-'90s Image, remembered for its unflinching blend of body horror and pulp action.
