About the series
From 2025, Oni Press revived the classic EC Comics tradition of twist-ending science fiction horror with Cruel Universe, a ten-issue anthology series. Writers Greg Pak, Al Feldstein, and Jeff Jensen, alongside artists Kano, Brian Level, and Daniel Gete, craft standalone tales of cosmic dread and human folly, echoing the moralistic bite of the original EC line. It matters as a modern, creator-driven continuation of a foundational comics genre, bringing its cautionary parables to a new generation.
