Crimson Sonderband

In 2001 and 2002, Dino Verlag collected the darkly supernatural adventures of the vampire Alex Elder into a four-issue German-language series, Crimson Sonderband. Written primarily by Brian Augustyn and Timothy Stahl, with the distinctive, energetic art of Humberto Ramos, this volume brought the fan-favorite Image Comics series to a new audience. It matters as a key example of the late-1990s/early-2000s boom in stylish, creator-owned horror comics, showcasing Ramos's signature style before his later work on major superhero titles.
