About the series
From 1988 to 2000, Globe Communications’ Cracked Monster Party took the familiar, monster-mashing humor of Cracked magazine and aimed it squarely at younger readers, blending parody and kid-friendly frights across 46 issues. A rotating creative team—most frequently including writers Vic Martin and George Gladir, alongside artists John Severin, Rurik Tyler, and Michael Ricigliano—filled its pages with goofy ghouls and slapstick scares. Notably, the series also featured the Mystery Inc. gang (Scooby-Doo, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne, Fred, and Scrappy-Doo) in comedic adventures, making it a quirky, forgotten crossover between the Cracked universe and Hanna-Barbera’s beloved cartoon detectives.
