Corentin

Paul Cuvelier's lush, painterly art defined Corentin, a Belgian comic series launched in 1950 by Le Lombard. Co-written by Jacques Van Melkebeke and later Albert Weinberg, the seven-issue run follows the adventures of a young boy in a fantastical, prehistoric-inspired world. It remains a cornerstone of the "clear line" tradition's more expressive wing, celebrated for Cuvelier's pioneering use of watercolor and its dreamlike atmosphere.
