About the series
A gritty, low-fi indie action series that ran from 2012 to 2025 across 44 issues, Copra is the brainchild of Michel Fiffe, who wrote and drew most of its run, with occasional art from John K. Snyder III. Published under Fiffe's own Copra Press, it follows a violent, morally ambiguous team of mercenaries navigating a world of brutal crime and supernatural threats, wearing its punk-rock and underground-comix influences on its sleeve. What matters is how Fiffe channeled the spirit of classic Suicide Squad into a raw, self-published labor of love that became a touchstone for creator-owned action comics in the 2010s.
