About the series
Condor Verlag’s German-language Conan der Barbar ran for ten issues from 1982 to 1985, adapting the sword-and-sorcery adventures of Robert E. Howard’s iconic Cimmerian for a new audience. The series drew on the talents of American comics legends Roy Thomas, Doug Moench, and Stan Lee as writers, with John Buscema, Ernie Chan, and Alan Weiss providing the dynamic, muscular artwork that defined Conan’s visual legacy. By reprinting and translating key stories from the Marvel Comics run, this Condor series helped cement the barbarian’s popularity in German-speaking markets during the early 1980s.
