Commander Moon

A moody, black-and-white science fiction saga from the independent Groth label, Commander Moon ran for twelve issues from 1987 to 1990. Created entirely by the singular talent Heinrich Banemann, the series follows the lonely commander of a lunar outpost, exploring themes of isolation and duty against a stark, atmospheric backdrop. Banemann’s distinctive, expressive linework and introspective writing make this a cult touchstone of late-80s alternative comics.
