Berke Breathed, fresh off his celebrated Bloom County run, created this short-lived Eclipse Comics series as a vehicle for his signature satirical humor and lush, expressive artwork. Spanning just two issues in 1989–1990, Comics Express offered a standalone showcase for Breathed’s evolving style, free from the constraints of a daily newspaper strip.
