About the series
From 1943 to 1948, Editions Mondiales published Collection Les Belles Aventures, a 98-issue comic series that brought Superman's original creators, writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster, to the French market. This wartime and postwar series repackaged and translated classic American superhero adventures, making the Man of Steel and other characters a staple for French readers. It remains a significant artifact of how American comics were adapted for international audiences during the Golden Age.
