About the series
In the early 1970s, Spanish publisher Buru Lan brought the legendary Italian hero Zagor to a new audience with Colección Zagor, a 76-issue series that collected the adventures of the "Spirit with the Hatchet." This run made the character, a protector of the Darkwood forest, a staple of Spanish comics, showcasing the dynamic art and storytelling of creators like Gallieno Ferri and writer Guido Nolitta. By translating the original Italian stories for a Spanish readership, the series helped cement Zagor's place as a beloved adventure icon beyond his home country.
