About the series
Clifton is a long-running Franco-Belgian comic series from Le Lombard, launched in 1978 and still ongoing, that follows the genteel, bumbling British detective Colonel Clifton through a mix of light-hearted mysteries and espionage capers. The series is most famously defined by the creative partnership of writer Bob de Groot and artist Turk, who crafted its signature blend of dry humor and clever plotting across many of its 21 issues. While later installments have been handled by Michel Rodrigue and The House of Boom!, the core appeal remains the character's old-school charm and the series' enduring place as a beloved staple of European adventure-comedy.
