About the series
In the mid-1970s, DC Comics ventured into sword-and-sorcery territory with Claw the Unconquered, a 12-issue series following a barbarian hero in a fantasy realm. David Michelinie and E. Nelson Bridwell were the primary writers, while a rotating team of artists including Curt Swan, Keith Giffen, and Ernie Chua brought the epic battles and mystical landscapes to life. Though short-lived, the series stands as a notable example of DC’s attempt to capitalize on the Conan-inspired fantasy boom of the era.
