About the series
In the late 1980s, Spanish publisher Planeta DeAgostini launched Clásicos Marvel, a 41-issue series that re-presented key Marvel stories for a new audience, with Antonio Martín overseeing the editorial direction. The run is particularly notable for early work by future stars Carlos Pacheco and Juanjo Guarnido, whose art brought classic tales of Peter Parker’s battles against Doctor Octopus and other foes to life. This series served as an essential gateway, introducing Spanish readers to foundational Spider-Man adventures with a fresh, localized touch.
