From 1981 to 1984, Editora de Periódicos, S. C. L. "La Prensa" published Clásicos Ilustrados, a 24-issue comic series that adapted classic literature into sequential art. The series drew on talents like Doug Moench, Chris Claremont, and H. G. Wells (as a source author), with artwork by Yong Montaño, Alan Weiss, and Dino Castrillo.
