Cinema Purgatorio

From 2016 onward, Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neill reunited at Avatar Press for Cinema Purgatorio, a single-issue comic that serves as a dark, satirical homage to the cinematic experience. This one-shot presents a nightmarish vision of a movie theater where the films on screen are twisted reflections of pop culture and human vice, rendered in O'Neill's signature grotesque style. Though brief, it stands as a pointed, collaborative statement from two of comics' most celebrated creators on the medium's relationship with film and exploitation.
