Cerise et Garou

In this brief two-issue series from 2011–2012, French publisher Clair de Lune offered a darkly romantic twist on the Red Riding Hood mythos. Cerise et Garou reimagines the classic tale through a gothic, horror-tinged lens, focusing on the fraught relationship between its young heroine and the wolf. Though short-lived, the series is notable for its atmospheric European comic art and its contribution to the wave of fairy-tale reinterpretations popular in early 2010s comics.
